John Fede​

PRINCIPAL

John Fede is our principal at FCA he joined our family during the 2015-2016 school year. He has been a Habersham County resident since 1993 and has three grown children. Mr. Fede earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Education for Teachers from Clemson University. He received his master’s degree in Education Administration from Eastern Illinois University. He recently retired from Tallulah Falls School after twenty years of teaching, coaching, and administration. Mr. Fede served ten years as a Methodist minister , both in Gainesville and Stephens County. He also served in the armed forces for fifteen years as an United States Army officer.

Cassandra Laws

RESOURCE DIRECTOR & CAREER/ADMISSION DIRECTOR

Cassandra Laws is 44 years old, married to Russell for 24 years and counting. She is a proud parent of 2 teenage boys, Cash and Dalton. This will be her 4th year at FCA. She attends Yonah C.H. Church in Alto where she is involved with the youth program. Mrs. Laws graduated from Piedmont College in May of 2012 with a bachelors in early childhood education and an endorsement of special education K-12. She has worked in finance since high school. Starting in 1999 she helps keep the books of her husbands small business.

Tiffany Collins

HISTORY (6-12) DEPARTMENT

Mrs. Tiffany Collins lives in Stephens County with her husband, Owen and son, Will. She holds a Masters in Middle Grades Social Studies, a Middle Grade Education Certification in Social Studies and Language Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Piedmont College. This is Mrs. Collins second year teaching at FCA. She is a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toccoa, GA. She loves to travel with her family and LOVES cheering on the Dawgs on Saturday’s between the hedges.

Christy Watkins

RESOURCE TEACHER/TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR

Christy Watkins lives in Banks County with her husband and teenage daughter, who is in her second year at FCA. Christy graduated from Lanier Technical College, specializing in child development. Mrs. Watkins spent four years working at Challenged Child and Friends in Gainesville and another six years at Lyman Hall Elementary. After moving to Banks County she worked at Banks County Upper Elementary for a year and Banks County Primary for another nine years. Mrs. Watkins enjoys being a part of a Christian School environment.

Karen Thomas

RESOURCE TEACHER, ELECTIVE TEACHER, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR & SCHOOL NURSE

Mrs. Thomas lives in Clarkesville, GA. She is married and has three daughters. She is a registered nurse, but also has a minor in Dance & Theatre Arts. She will be serving for her 4th year as a choreographer for the co-op drama program, working as a resource teacher, and helping FCA as a nurse. A fun fact about Karen is that she used to be a competitive ballroom dancer with her husband.

Tracey Phillips

RESOURCE TEACHER

Mrs. Phillips lives in Cleveland with her husband and son. Her son, Colton, also attends FCA. This is her first year at FCA. Before this employment she worked for Barrow County School System as a Special Needs Bus Monitor. She is excited to be part of our family. On the side she enjoys gardening, crafts, reading, and cooking.

Virginia Gladden

ART THEORY TEACHER

Mrs. Virginia Gladden lives in Demorest with her husband, and her elderly mother. She has six grandchildren. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Mrs. Gladden majored in Art at the Balboa Jr. College in the Canal Zone, Panama and also while attending Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton, GA. She graduated from Piedmont College in Demorest with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Gladden has worked as a school bus driver in Habersham County for 20 years. After she retired from school bus driving she began work for the White County School System, completing 15 years. She came to FCA in 2012. She is now retired and is working part-time at Faith Christian Academy. Mrs. Gladden feels like a dream has come true to be working with the students and faculty as an art teacher in a Christian school.

Sarah Marlowe

BUSINESS MANAGER

Mrs. Marlowe has been married to Eric for 20 years, and they are the proud parents of two teenage sons, Logan 18, and Caelan 15. Sarah graduated from North Georgia Technical Institute. They decided to homeschool their children for the last 12 years. Caelan is a FCA student and Logan is attending welding classes with North Georgia Tech. She also teaches in our homeschooling co-op. Sarah shows her love for God, her family, and FCA students by walking in the word of the Lord with her kind, loving nature and dedication to helping children be everything God created them to be.

Suzan Clay

ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Mrs. Clay lives in Cornelia, GA. She has been married 48 years to her best friend Frank, now a retired pastor. With an Elementary Education degree, she has 22 years experience in Christian schools, and 50 years teaching the Word and its truths to children. She has enjoyed teaching at FCA for the past 10 years as a teacher and substitute teacher. She enjoys visiting their 5 married children in ministry all over the world with the bonus of seeing their 21 grandchildren. She also enjoys sewing, crafting, knitting, and so many other projects for the eagerly affirms, “that whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men…for you serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23) will be working in our enrichment program also and serving as a substitute teacher.

Celina Willis

SPANISH TEACHER

Mrs. Willis has taught Spanish at Cordis Academy in Marietta and at Faith Academy in Davao City, Philippines. She has worked for Wycliffe Bible Translators in Guatemala, Peru and the Philippines. Her and her husband continue to work with Wycliffe as members of the Translator’s Notes Team. Mrs. Willis currently lives in Demorest with her husband, Mark, and her daughter, Ana Elizabeth, who is studying nursing at Piedmont College.

Frank Clay

ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

After serving as pastor for 40 years in 7 different churches, Rev. Clay retired from full-time pastoral ministry in 2011 from Central Alliance Church of Mt. Airy, GA. He joined our faculty team at FCA in January 2018 assisting his wife, Suzan, in the Enrichment Program during the after school hours. Rev. & Mrs. Clay, married since 1969, have served the Lord together for nearly 50 years, bringing youth and children up “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord”. Having raised 5 children of their own who all serve the Lord, they now encourage in many ways their 21 grandchildren to follow Christ. Glad to be a part of the team here at Faith.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT

Robert Coates

ELECTIVE TEACHER & COACH

Mr. Coates is entering his second year at FCA. He graduated from Niles High School where he was awarded the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Award for leading students in Math and Science. he attended Michigan State University on an academic scholarship and graduated with a BS degree in Mechancial Engineering. He began his 40 year computer related career with IBM where he worked in various management postitions including Branch Manager in Louisville, KY. He later held executive positoins in EDS, Digital Equipment, Corporation, Synercom Technologies, and Seiko Graphics. His titles included Regional Manager, Director of Sales, VP of Sales, and US Operations Manager. A few years ago Bob moved to Habersham County where he lives with his wife, Carol, and his youngest son, Hendricks.

Kimberly Collins

MEDIA CENTER COORDINATOR/SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Kimberly Collins has been married to Casey Collins for 13 years and it looking forward to many more. They have 3 children; Dustin, Carson and Sara. Both of the boys also attend FCA. Mrs. Collins is also a full time student at Piedmont College, working on her Bachelors degree in Nursing. She enjoys reading, crafts, gardening, and traveling.

Jimmie Yardley

MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR

Mr. Yardley hails from Knoxville, TN. He is an avid Tennessee Volunteer fan. Before coming to FCA, Mr. Yardley worked as a construction sheet metal worker for thirty-four years. After his retirement, he did maintenance work for an assisted living home and warranty work for a home builder. Mr. Yardley’s many experiences in construction and maintenance are valuable assets to FCA. Mr. Yardley is married and has three adult children. He and his wife, Ann, live in Clarkesville.
